Community Advisory Radio for Palm Beach Gardens!
It’s called Community Advisory Radio and it’s been established in Palm Beach Gardens.
Unlike typical commercial radio stations, this AM frequency will not air the Top 40 hits
from the Billboard chart. This station strictly exists to provide information to City
residents in the event of an emergency.
You have probably seen this type of radio station in your travels along highways, directing
you to tune your radio to a certain frequency to receive traffic information. That is the
same technology now available to residents and visitors of the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
The City has installed the equipment necessary, and the community radio station is ready
to rock and roll in its job of communicating with residents and visitors any vital
information regarding natural disasters, traffic problems, emergencies and special events.
The City will be broadcasting timely information for residents before, during and after a
storm or emergency.
The City has been divided into different zones. Please note from viewing the City map,
divided into these zones, where your home is located. Information regarding debris
removal and damage status will be announced using that zone system following a storm or
an emergency. City residents should become familiar with their zone in advance. A map
designating the zones is also located in the City’s Emergency guide. You can pick up a
hard copy in the lobby at City Hall or at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.
